Frequently Asked Questions about Tri City Assembly of God

What are your worship services like?

  • Our worship services are lively, contemporary in style, with the focus on expressions of worship (singing, spiritual gifts) and the exposition of God's written Word.  Typically the Sunday services include singing, giving, the preaching of God's Word, and opportunity to respond to the work of the Holy Spirit.  The atmosphere is casual and friendly.

How do you treat your visitors?

  • We recognize the coming to any church for the first time can be a daunting experience.  At Tri City Assembly of God, our desire is to make you feel welcome and appreciated without making you feel uncomfortable.  The Hospitality Team is available to answer any questions you may have.  Everyone receives a church bulletin, containing important information about the church, events, and ministries.  Attached to the bulletin is a "Communication Card" that you are encouraged to complete and place it in the offering during the service.

Will I be required to give in the offering?

  • Absolutely not!  During the service, the church members will be given an opportunity to worship the Lord with their Tithe and Offerings.  As a visitor, there is no expectation for you to give.  Just sit back and enjoy the music as the congregation worships God with giving.

How often do you observe Holy Communion?

  • Holy Communion is observed the first Sunday of every month.  It alternates between Sunday morning and Sunday evening services.  In addition, Holy Communion is observed during a special service on Christmas Eve.  The only requirement to receive Communion is that you are a Believer (trusting in Jesus Christ alone for Salvation).

How many people attend Tri City Assembly of God?

  • As of January 2008, there are about 230 people that are connected to the church.  Our average Sunday morning worship attendance is between 140 and 160 people.  We have about 25 teenagers and 40 children that attend on Wednesday night but not on Sunday.  In addition to those "connected" to the church, we have 190 students in our daycare that receive weekly ministry and Christian instruction.

What's available to my children or teenager?

  • On Sundays, we have a host of classes and ministry opportunities for your children.  We have Sunday School, Kid City Church, staffed Nurseries, Junior Bible Quiz, and Drama and Music Rehearsals.  On Wednesday nights, we have Royal Rangers for boys, MPact Clubs (formerly known as Missionettes) for girls, and ABLAZE Youth Service.  In addition to these programs, children and youth can experience conventions, camps, retreats, VBS, and numerous activities and events.

Do you have small groups that I can be belong to?

  • Definitely YES!  We have seven small groups that meet on Mondays or Sundays.  Some meet weekly for eight weeks then take off for about two to four weeks.  Other groups meet every other week.  Our Sunday groups meet at 9:30 a.m. (also known as Sunday School).  The purpose of our small groups is to facilitate authentic discipleship through friendship, study, and fun.  Life Groups semester begins the second week of January 2008.  Call the church office for more information.
